Returning from Phoenix, it was refreshing to see this vertical green wall at the airport in Vancouver. The desert is beautiful but a week of the prevailing attitude of doing very little about the environment really got to me.
Two hundred years from now people will look at us and be so angry at the legacy we are leaving. I feel rage at the slave trade that has left us with a legacy of racism and waste of human potential, but people were caught up in a system that made it easy to do the wrong thing.
Okay, I’ll climb off my soapbox now …
Hi Ruth,
Totally agree on your sentiments about the environment. That’s why I personally try to limit my carbon footprint.
On the differences between north and south of the border, my daughter was appalled that seat belts were not required when she rode in a vehicle.
Loved the patterns you found.
Hi Laura,
Seatbelt law in the States goes by state. It’s compulsory in Arizona but motorcyclists don’t have to wear a helmet …
Hi Ruth,
Love your photo of the green wall at Vancouver.
I am doing a feature on these walls for Good Magazine in New Zealand – could we use your image? Can’t pay for it I’m afraid, but could give you a credit!
many thanks
Andy
Hey Andy, that would be awesome. Does the magazine have a website so I’ll be able to see my photo when it’s published?
Cool thank you!
Not sure if we will definitely need it yet. If we do, I will let you know here.
Magazine’s website is http://www.good.net.nz
best wishes
